MonQ Review – Zen

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an anxious person. I’ve always over analyzed and over thought everything. Even months, sometimes years, after an event has passed, I still run it over in my head. I obsess over it for what seems like no reason at all. Just last night I asked my husband if the repair man that came to our cabin 2 years ago to fix our fireplace actually found anything wrong with it cause I just couldn’t shake the feeling that we called him all the way out there for nothing. That’s life for me everyday, constantly worrying over nothing. I’m not a big fan of narcotics, but I’ve really been in need of a way to manage my day to day stress. My sister in-law suggested I try MONQ’s portable essential oil diffuser in “Zen”. MONQ has several flavors or diffusers (including a “Happy” and a “Sleepy”), but after talking with my sister-in-law and reading several reviews, “Zen” had the most overall calming effect. At first, I admit, I was skeptical considering it seemed a lot like vaping and becoming addicted to smoking was the last thing I needed. After doing some more research, I realized it was nothing like smoking. To simplify, it’s basically like aromatherapy in a convenient little tube. It’s composed of essential oils such as ylang ylang, frankincense, sage, and many others. Imagine all the comfort and stress relief of a bubble bath right at your finger tips. After a long stressful day, a nice soak in a lavender scented bubble bath is just what the doctor ordered. But, as an anxious mom, I don’t have time to take a bubble bath every time I feel stressed. That’s where the MONQ comes in to play.

I can honestly say that I wasn’t expecting much. Unless it had a sedative of some sort in it, I couldn’t imagine it being effectual in treating my anxiety. Thankfully…I was wrong.

When my MONQ arrived in the mail I was eager to use it. It came in sleek, compact packaging and the diffuser itself looked so gorgeous for an inanimate object. However, I wanted to wait until I was truly anxious before trying it out because I wanted to be sure of its effects. After my toddler threw our dog’s food bowl, scattering food all over the floor, and startling our little pup into peeing right then and there, I was ready. I cleaned up the mess, put my fussy little tyrant down for a nap and headed outside. I could feel my heart racing and couldn’t shake the feeling that I wasn’t going to survive the next 17 years. I knew this tiny little diffuser had its work cut out for it and at this moment, I was really hoping it was worth the 20 bucks I shelled out for one. I took my first puff and as the purple light lit up, I experienced a wave of citrus and herbs in my mouth. It smelled sweet and felt almost cool to the touch as it escaped through my nose. I realized I was thinking so much about what I was doing at that exact moment that there was no room in my brain to stress about how little control I had over my life. I took a couple more puffs just because I liked the taste and then I headed back inside.

Everybody’s anxiety is different, but mine is a lot like having two me’s sharing one mind. One me is determined to worry and stress and overthink EVERYTHING. The other knows better. The other me (the me I prefer) knows that there’s just some things that I can’t change and that’s okay. I can’t say using the MONQ silences the anxious me, but it makes the calm me louder and therefore much easier to understand and follow. I really appreciated this and for that reason I incorporated the MONQ in my daily routine. When I was stuck at home all day and there was just no way to avoid my stressors, I took a puff or two of my MONQ and I was able to find comfort in the things I can’t change. I’m not saying it was life changing or something I just HAD  to have, but it was certainly convenient. There are plenty of natural ways to calm an anxious mind (like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, listening to music, etc..) but as far as a quick and effective go, the MONQ is unique to say the least. It’s easy to fit into your everyday routine and doesn’t require a “timeout”. It can be used at home or at work and is completely safe to use inside around kids or pets.

Aromatherapy in general is very helpful for certain types of anxiety and is certainly something worth trying if you’ve never tried aromatherapy before and don’t know where to start. I’m very happy with my MONQ and thankful for how it has simplified my life. I still have anxiety and I still breakdown sometimes but I can make it through the day without bursting into tears or wanting to lock myself in the bathroom and I whole heartedly believe that’s because using my MONQ keeps me level-headed. Maybe it’s all in my head or maybe it actually works. Regardless, living with anxiety is miserable and I’m thankful that I have something that makes it a little less miserable.

If you’re skeptical about trying a MONQ, just do it. There is so much that you can gain and it’s right at your fingertips. There’s nothing to lose. Really. MONQ has a 30 day money-back guarantee if you are dissatisfied with the product. I highly recommend this  to anyone with anxiety or just anyone who needs to chill out on the daily. If you read this and you try it, please tell me about your experience. I’m really curious about other people’s experiences as well.

*I DO NOT recommend using a MONQ as a replacement for anxiety medications. That is something that should always be discussed with your physician first.
